With MyChineseFlashCards, you can do any of the following things:
1) Learn everything you need to know on a character to memorize it:
(*) Commentary field: Commentary on the history of the character, based on the works of the historians.
(**) Memorizing tip field: Tip for helping the student to memorize the character. It should not be considered as an official explanation of the character (based on the work of the scholars), but rather as a practical way to memorize it.
Character radicals : each character is broken down into radicals and basic components
2) Choose :
- the character display order (ascending, decending or random order),
- the learning strategy ((learning, character recognization, character writing),
- the character you will see by selecting one of the 39 available filters (radical, not radical, pictogram, etc) or one of your personal character list,
- the character index range.
3) Learn characters with four learning strategies:
The four available learning strategies are the following :
- Discovery strategy : in this strategy, the user simply visualizes the flash cards of the characters he wants to learn.
- Manual Writing strategy : in this strategy, the character is hidden. The user writes the character with the mouse. MyChineseFlashCards , using a hand written recognition algorithm, checks that the input character is correct.
- Visual recognition strategy : in this strategy, the meaning is hidden. The user guesses the meaning , based on the displayed character,
- Hearing strategy: in this strategy, the character and the meaning are hidden. The user guesses the meaning and the character, based on the character pronunciation

8) Search a character by writing it with the mouse (you can also search it by pinyin, meaning, commentary or tips):
